NAMM 2010 Wanna Play Music Sunday

NAMM JUST ANNOUNCED: WANNA PLAY MUSIC SUNDAY!

NAMM has announced that they will have a new event called Wanna Play Music Sunday.

From: http://www.namm.org/wannaplaysunday

For the first time, NAMM welcomes music students, parents, music advocates and enthusiasts in the Nashville region to attend our first "Wanna Play Music Sunday" at 2010 Summer NAMM, one of the largest musical instrument and product trade shows in the country. Come and see all of the latest and greatest music and sound products under one roof!

It looks like NAMM is trying to reach out to a new crowd... students, parents, music advocates etc. After the drop in attendance NAMM is now going to be inviting a whole new crowd out to the shows. NAMM is going to have a lot different class options for amateurs and bands. Some of these classes are very basic, and not geared towards the industry professionals, such as, techniques on hooking up your recording gear. These classes may not be as beneficial to the industry professionals, but having the pros put on clinics will open up jobs for themselves and also education students on recording and music gear. I believe NAMM is making a good move by bringing in the uneducated crow. This will allow companies to pitch their product to the beginners. I hope we see an increase in recording interest from the amateurs and also an increase in summer NAMM 2010!
